The Iron Age cooking experiments have begun – staff and visitors are testing out Iron Age recipes – this one for a fruited bread made with blackberries. We’ll be having a sampling day later in the summer, once we’ve got an entire menu tested. As the Iron Age people were farmers, much of it is quite recognisable – porridge, cream, fruit, and stews. Our copy of “Prehistoric Cookery” is being pored over for the tastiest menus !
